此外，观视镜还可以提供有关蒸汽系统其它方面的情况。例如观视镜玻璃如有同体沉淀物而变得模糊，可判断蒸汽中含有游离的氧和二氧化碳，因而引起凝结水管的腐蚀，也可判断锅炉给水中有机物沉淀。
